Audio can be distorted for four reasons:

Not enough internet bandwidth to handle VoIP calls
Poor quality internet router unable to handle workload
Problem with the audio mixer or the 3.5mm audio cable connecting the mixer to the PBX
A physical fault with the audio port on the PBX

To troubleshoot, please answer the following questions in order:

Do the recordings sound clear but live meetings sound terrible?
- This indicates that the issue is number 1 or 2, or possibly both. Please call your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and ensure that you have the best available connection in your area. If you're on ADSL, ask them if vDSL or Fibre is available in your area. For advice on which router to purchase, please see our Router Purchasing Guide.

Do both live meetings and recordings sound terrible?
- This means the issue is either 3 or 4.

If I try another audio source (ie: a smartphone) does that sound clear?
- This would indicate that the issue is number 3. This requires general audio troubleshooting. If you need assistance with this, please contact your local LDC representative.

If you are still unable to get good quality audio, even with a different audio source then the issue is number 4. Please contact Vattendance via the portal chat.
